Joining Harkon's coven of bloodsuckers grants you the power to transform into a vampire lord. Blood potions can be carried around for a quick, fuss-free fix of the red stuff, and you get access to 11 vampire-specific perks, including summoning a gargoyle to help you in battle. Now you can reach the fourth stage of vampirism without people instantly fleeing or attacking you. Dawnguard fleshes vampirism out and makes it a worthwhile choice. “But you could be a vampire in vanilla Skyrim!” I hear you say. So I went down that rabbit hole and finally got it to work with Enhanced. I was playing the game with well over 100 mods, everything was fine but one little thing - my XP32 skeleton was not working. For starters I have loot and it says everything is great. I spend 100 hours modding Skyrim then 10 hours in I get so annoyed by all the bugs I quit.
